AGA was founded in 2018. It is an international, non-governmental and non-profit scientific organization, whose principal objective is to stimulate the development of geography in Asia.

Missions & Objectives

The main objectives of the AGA are:

 

a. to stimulate the development of geography in Asia;

 

b. to advance research and educational activities in all fields of geography in Asia;

 

c. to promote the dissemination of knowledge of geography in education, business and governmental organizations across Asia;

 

d. to improve communication and facilitate cooperation among institutions in member countries.

  • 5th ACG Travel Grants Winners Announcement

    As of August 1st, the AGA Secretariat received over 20 applications from 10 countries. Due to limited budget and financial policy, the AGA will be able to provide financial assistance to a total of 6 applicants. After review by awarding committee of the AGA, we are pleased to announce that the 5th ACG travel grants will be provided to following six recipients:

    Applicants must submit an abstract of your paper, acceptance notification letter together with this application form to the email address acg2018@igsnrr.ac.cn no later than August 1st, 2022. Late applications will not be considered.

  • Philippine Geographical Society 2021 Accomplishment Report

    The first ever International Conference on Geographical Studies (ICGS 2021) was held on November 4-5, 2021. ICGS 2021 is a collaboration with the UP Department of Geography, and in partnership with Social Sciences and Philosophy Research Foundation (SSPRF).

  • The China Conference on Geography 2021 Successfully Held

    Jointly organized by Geographical Society of China (GSC) and Fujian Normal University (FNU), the China Conference on Geography 2021 was successfully held on December 12th-15th, 2021.

Statement on the 5th ACG Postponement

 

Dear colleagues,

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and travel restrictions imposed by most of the countries in the world, the Asian Geographical Association (AGA) and the local organizing committee have decided to postpone the 5th Asian Conference on Geography (5th ACG) originally scheduled on Oct. 18-22, 2021 for about six months. The new dates of the 5th ACG will be Apr. 21-25, 2022 and the conference venue remains at Thai Nguyen University (TNU), Thai Nguyen, Vietnam. 

 

Information of more details on the conference including the revised important dates, conference program will be soon available on the conference website http://acg2021.tnu.edu.vn/.

 

Please mark your calendar with the new dates. Thanks for your understanding and patience and we are looking forward to welcoming you in Vietnam in April 2022.
